Director, Vickie Bennett

Vickie BennetVickie Bennett has been married to her husband Jim since 1986, and they are currently living in Zhanjiang China overseeing ZKO's Grace Village project.  They have three biological children, Adam, Andrew and Amber.  They have adopted four children from China; Anagrace and Abraham from Zhanjiang, Austin from Nanjing, and Amelia from Fuzhou.  Vickie is a retired accountant and volunteers full time for ZKO in Zhanjiang China. Vickie was one of the co-founders of ZKO.  She, along with her husband Jim, founded ZKO's Grace Village program.

Fundraising Coordinator, Susan Doshier

Susan DoshierSusan Doshier has been married to Wade since 1980 and resides with her family in Dallas, TX. Susan has three daughters - Kristen, Kaitlyn and Rachel. Kristen and Kaitlyn were the first set of twins adopted from Zhanjiang in 1996 and two months later Rachel was born! Susan stays busy as a volunteer at her church, at her daughters school, and in the community through her work with National Charity League. In her free time Susan enjoys travel, reading, and attending her daughter's many activities.  Susan joined ZKO’s Board in 2011.

Public Relations Coordinator, Valerie Martin

Valerie MartinValerie Martin has been married to Doug since 1992, and they live in Maryland.  They have three biological children, and two whom they adopted from China: Sophie from Zhanjiang in 2004 and Ava from Jiangxi in 2006.  Valerie is involved in volunteering at her church and children's school.  She is also active as an advocate in the Special Needs community of Chinese adoptees.  Besides caring for her family, she enjoys photography, sewing, and reading.  Valerie is one of the founding members of ZKO and handles inquiries from adoptive families.

Secretary/Newsletter Editor, Kimberley Simms

Kimberly SimmsKimberley Simms lives in Atlanta with her daughter Tuesday Grace Minghui, adopted from Zhanjiang in 2006, and husband Chris Blobaum. She is a former actress who works part-time and is actively involved in her daughter's school, her church and community. Kimberley has served on the board since 2007 as ZKO’s Secretary and is the Editor of the Annual Newsletter.

Orphanage Liason/Translator, Huang Ying

Huang YingHuang Ying came to the United States with her husband in 2001. She has a Master's Degree in English Literature from China and has more than ten years of experiences as a translator and project coordinator, working for Chinese provincial government, foreign trade companies, etc. She completed another Master’s Degree in Quantitative Analysis in the United States and worked as a financial analyst at a bank. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Ying joined the board of ZKO in 2008 and was instrumental in the building of ZKO’s relationship with the Zhanjiang SWI and local government officials.

Adoption and Special Needs Consultant, Hilary Marquis

Hilary MarquisHilary Marquis has been married  to Tim since 1998, and they live in Minnesota.  They have 3 biological children, Tyler, Toby, and Amelia.  Their 4th child, Anara, was adopted from Kyrgyzstan in 2007.  The youngest, Malia and Hannah, were adopted from Zhanjiang, China in 2010 and 2012.  Hilary is a stay at home mom and homeschools the kids.  Having multiple children with special needs, she spends a lot of time running to and from different doctors and therapists.  When she has some spare time she enjoys volunteering at her church, spending time with her family, and sewing.  She considers it an honor to have been asked to join the ZKO board in 2014 and loves giving back to her daughters' first home.

Treasurer, Suzanne Young

Suzanne Young serves on ZKO’s Treasurer.  Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Liberty University and her Master of Education in Special Education from University of Maryland.  She served as a volunteer for ZKO since 2011 and joined their Board in 2015 as their Treasurer.  Suzanne is a teacher and enjoys assisting students of any age and ability to discover their abilities and talents and desires to help them work to their fullest potential.  Suzanne is lives in Lancaster, Ohio and is married to Ronny and has four children.
